As with all baseline tests, the essence of this test is simplicity. All you need is a ball, tape measure and some marker cones.
Here, you’re testing co-ordination, arm strength and stomach muscles. Whilst the test is for individuals to measure their progress over time, there’s no reason why you can’t create teams and, as well as measuring individual distances, use different coloured cones for each team’s furthest throw and give the test a competitive edge.
